Winnie the Pooh Birth Sampler stitched to celebrate the birth of a friend’s baby, it’s a very delicate picture with lots of half cross stitch and single strand and the french knots came out quite well as well
Sleeping Beauty by Mirabillia I saw and advert in a magazine for the pattern and just wanted to do this one. It was a lot of work and I ran out of some of the colours and being in the days before the internet and without a local stitching shop there were some very frantic calls made to the mail order companies
Earthdancer by Butternut Road the first picture I did that had a lot of speciality threads and a lot of bead working, the picture itself wasn’t complicated at all there was just a lot of careful counting to be done to get the dreamcatcher stitched correctly
Isabella’s Garden by Lavender and Lace another one where I fell in love with the picture as soon as I saw it. It didn’t take long to complete either and I really enjoyed stitching it.
Moonlight Hydrangea by Maia there are so many kits in the Maia range that I really want to stitch, I’m building a bit of a stash of them at the moment and finding more with each new range they bring out. This was the first time I had stitched on black fabric and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, there are a lot of colour changes and small areas of colour so it felt like I was changing needles a lot of the time. The black background really makes the colours stand out which is probably what drew me to the picture in the first place it’s very different to the traditional flower images I’ve seen before.
